TIMES TABLES

The times tables are a useful mathematical tool. Importantly, children who have a good understanding of their times tables generally enjoy maths more and are more confident when learning new mathematical concepts.

The Learn with TITH three step method for learning a times table:

Step 1: Practise to count forwards and backwards in a chosen times table.

Step 2: Apply the knowledge gained in step 1 as we begin to answer multiplication questions about the chosen                       times table.

Step 3: Use the knowledge of multiplication to find its inverse as we begin to answer division questions about                       the chosen times table.

Throughout the process, a counting stick and different characters are used as visual aids to support the learner, and key vocabulary is introduced at each of the relevant stages.

TIMES TABLES TEST CENTRE

Once you have practised each group of times tables, why not test your knowledge of the multiplication and division facts when they are all mixed up.
